In these times of awful satanic news stories, we need happy times to keep us going. Did you see Obama’s inaugaration speech? He thanked his daughters and told them they’ve earned a dog to take to the White House. Holy crap did the media jump on that one? Forget all the other problems, the nation’s biggest concern ever since has been finding that family a dog!
Let’s bring you up to speed. From the Daily Telegraph:
Adding to the complication of choosing a first pet is the fact that Malia, 10, is allergic to most breeds, prompting the American Kennel Club to suggest various “hypo-allergenic” breeds including the Bichon Frise and the poodle.
So Peru wants to send one of their bald dogs:
“We want to give a male puppy to Obama’s daughters, so they get to experience all the joys of having a dog but without any allergies,” said Claudia Galvez, 38, director of the Friends of the Peruvian Hairless Dog Association.
According to Peruvian folklore, the dogs have above-average body temperature, which compensates for their lack of hair and helps alleviate symptoms of asthma or arthritis suffered by their owners.
Mrs Galvez delivered a letter detailing her offer to the US embassy in Lima on Monday and hopes the Obama family will accept it.
And while America seems to have made up their mind on this issue:
The American Kennel Club® (AKC) announced today that the public has elected a Poodle as their breed of choice for the Obama family.
More than 42,000 people cast their vote over the seven-week campaign. The Poodle clinched the nomination after the breed battled it out with the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier in a race almost as tight as Clinton and Obama’s run for the Democratic nomination for president.
…the opinions on all the news forums are downright forceful (bordering on threatening) that they darn well get one from the shelter because the humane society will make your life hell…and it’s the right bloody thing to do:
For the Obamas, one decision has already been made — after lobbying from humane societies and the public, Michelle Obama announced in early October that the family had decided to adopt a rescue dog.
But hang on a minute….dogs aren’t the ones in shelters, and 5,696 people as of 10:49pm have signed a petition to say ‘adopt a shelter cat as well!’
All you cat lovers out there; you know what to do.
